Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia
(
HCA) officially opened the first stage of
its multi-million dollar facility at Wacol,
Brisbane in November.
With a total investment of over
$80 million upon completion, this 80,000m2
facility will take the company’s support
capabilities to a new level and is a major
investment in the future of HCA, Managing
Director of HCA, David Harvey said.
This state of the art facility, planned
by staff, will provide the latest in safety,
efficiency, and technologies for an
improved work environment,” he said.
The new facility is strategically located
to improve delivery of product and service
support to customers, in Queensland and
across the East Coast of Australia. The
facility will also remanufacture components
as well as assemble mining and a range of
construction equipment.
The new Brisbane Corporate Support
Group facility aims to create employment
opportunities within the region. The
facility will act as the headquarters for the
company’s national mining group, as well
as engineering services, product and service
support, and training.
The site features a specialised mining
and construction assembly workshop
capable of assembling Hitachi Electric Drive
Mining Dump Trucks up to 360 tonnes. A
remanufacturing workshop facility will
remanufacture all mechanical, hydraulic,
and electrical components.
The integration of an enclosed heated
paint preparation area, capable of painting
a 360 tonne dump truck, has been designed
to prevent toxic atmospheric emissions.
Orion Software has launched SiriusSMM,
an integrated Service Management
Module (SMM) for its rental management
software - a value-added module for the
Sirius Pro rental software.
SiriusSMM will optimise SiriusPro rental
software by integrating all revenues in
one solution. The SMM is the response
to the market change where more rental
companies are offering services and more
services companies are getting involved in
equipment rental.
Patrice Boivin, President and CEO of
Orion Software said: “The merge of the
two markets (Rental and Services) is
happening fast because end customers are
demanding better quality services and a
turn-key solution where both are
managed by the same provider. They also
need a provider that can do the
