Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) has released the first of
its hybrid hydraulic excavators in Australia, the Hitachi ZH210-A and
ZH210LC-A.
The new Hitachi hybrid excavators are equipped with an
innovative TRIAS-HX hybrid system that combines Hitachi’s newly
developed large capacity tri-pump control valve hydraulic and hybrid
system. Using electric hybrid technology in conjunction with swing
momentum to regenerate energy provides the ultimate platform to
reducing fuel consumption; an exclusive feature to Hitachi.
Generating 165hp, the ZH210-A and ZH210LC-A models
incorporate a four cylinder Isuzu diesel engine to deliver greater
fuel reductions and
higher productivity
to operators in the
20-
tonne excavator
class. This contributes to
an annual reduction in
CO2 emissions of 9.7*
tonnes compared with
the ZX200-3.
By selecting the eco-
mode, engine speed
can be decreased to
provide further fuel
savings.A monitoring
system supports
machine operation by
highlighting fuel usage.

Honda engines power the products of 150 Australian Original
Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) across the country with its V-Twin
Range of Honda engines offering up to 27HP-class.
Honda’s National Engine Manager, Chris New, said: “With nearly
60
years of engine manufacturing behind us, the farmers who
choose the Honda V-Twin-powered products are choosing them
because these engines will perform.
“
One way to tell if you’ve got a genuine Honda V-Twin engine is
to find the ‘Green & Gold Approved’ sticker, ensuring it meets all of
Honda’s operational and technical requirements and are designed
especially for Australia’s unique conditions.”
Honda recently launched a campaign to educate the public on
the dangers of purchasing a Honda-branded engine that has had its
Engine Serial Number ground off/replaced.
“
All Honda engines should have an engine number engraved into
the engine itself,” Chris said.
“
An engine with its Serial
Number defaced may not
be suitable for Australian
conditions, nor backed by
Honda’s extensive warranty
and parts back-up network or
may be counterfeit or stolen”.
