New manufacturing plant for Manitou in France

In May the Manitou Group will begin construction of an additional factory site in Candé, France for assembling Manitou rough-terrain AWP’s including ATJ and TJ machines.
Production in the new factory is due to start in September 2020.
The new site will be only 3km away from the existing Manitou site in Candé (Maine-et-Loire, France) on 8ha, double the size of the existing site. The factory’s total area of 18,000m² will include 10,000m² to host two assembly lines for Manitou rough-terrain AWPs.
Franck Lethorey, the Communication Officer at Manitou, said: “We already produce industrial-type AWPs dedicated to indoor applications as well as rough-terrain AWPs in the existing site in Candé. The idea is to split these two productions lines. On the site that will open in 2020, we will be focusing on the production of rough-terrain platforms. The big news is it will be equipped with a shipping platform.”
By managing the national and international shipment directly on site, the new factory project will spare the machines a 30km detour to the headquarters of Ancenis.
The new factory facilities for machines and parts will allow for a market increase of Manitou AWP machines.
