Dieci’s latest Icarus telehandler excels in applications such as construction, renovations, restorations, maintenance works and even the assembly of large renewable energy plants and wind farms.
The latest iteration of the Icarus, the 40.17, is loaded with features aimed at meeting the demands of customers who want more versatile, robust and reliable machines that are easy to drive and operate.
High-resistance steel forms the primary component, the telescopic boom, while load sensing and flow sharing distributors enable more simultaneous movements during operation. The Icarus also responds to controls in a fluid way, with precision and promptness, thus guaranteeing exceptional work comfort in complete safety.
Meanwhile, a semi-automatic air conditioning system with six outlet vents allows perfect air circulation inside the cabin, an openable rear glass roof and an integrated electric driver’s window.
To handle dusty environments, this model incorporates a separator pre-filter into the air, preventing the entry of dust and abrasive particles. The engine hood has been designed to reduce noise emissions and optimise heat dissipation.
A deadman sensor and an operator presence sensor in the seat keep the machine from being used by accident. A load-limiter device checks the vehicle’s stability in real time and stops any movements that could be dangerous when the safety limits are reached.
The Icarus machines can run at low speed with the engine at full throttle thanks to the hydrostatic transmission and “inching” pedal command. This is an essential control that allows travel speed to momentarily slow down or come to a stop while still offering maximum power to boom functions to increase precision and productivity for delicate operations.
The hydrostatic transmission guarantees power, reactivity, and control in manoeuvres, while a single control unit measures the optimal working parameters through in-depth diagnostics.
Other features include:
- Elevated work platforms options
Pre-arrangement can be made for man baskets, with remote control allowing boom and the aerial platform to be operated directly from the basket, in total autonomy and full safety. Compliant with Australian EWP Standard AS 1418.10.
- Single compensation cylinder
Patented by Dieci, this unit is located inside the lifting ram, ensuring that the load on the boom is always balanced, thereby improving durability.
- Side shift carriage
The Icarus is equipped with side shift on the boom that allows users to shift the carriage from side to side to tightly pack loads.
- Panoramic views
The large, curved windows of the cab offer a complete 360° outside view with uninterrupted visibility. Integrated LED worklights allow better visibility at night.
- 4-in-1 joystick
The machine is operated with a 4-in-1 ergonomically designed joystick, with integrated forward and reverse functions.
- 130l/min hydraulic flow rate
Up to 130lpm hydraulic flow maximises manoeuvrability in all applications.
