Temporary Edge Protection Standards have been updated

Following review of public comments, HRIA members are advised that the Australian & New Zealand Standards for Temporary Edge Protection: AS/NZS 4994.1, AS/NZS4994.2 and AS/NZS AS4994.3 have now been published as follows:
AS/NZS 4994.1:2023 “Temporary edge protection, Part 1: General requirements”
The major changes between this edition and the 2009 edition are deemed as follows:
- Scope was revised to include AS/NZS 4994.4.
- Configuration clauses expanded to consider material conveyers.
- Testing appendix updated for clarity
AS/NZS 4994.2:2023 “Temporary edge protection, Part 2: Roof edge protection— Installation and dismantling”
The major changes between this edition and the 2009 edition are deemed as follows:
- Document scope was revised to align with Parts 1 & 3 of this series
- Text was revised in some clauses to ensure clarity
AS/NZS 4994.3:2023 “Temporary edge protection, Part 3: Installation and dismantling for edges other than roof edges”
The major changes between this edition and the 2009 edition are deemed as follows:
- The document was revised in line with changes in parts 1 & 2
- Edge protection for stepped surfaces was introduced
The HRIA encourages members involved in supplying Temporary Edge Protection equipment to update their library of Standards and familiarise themselves with the new publications.
